Australia delays final decision of AD & CVD probes on China’s light gauge steel studs and tracks

Australia has postponed the release of its final report and recommendation on anti-dumping (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) investigations into light gauge steel studs and tracks from China.

On August 29, 2025, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission announced the delay, with a new target date of no later than June 17, 2026, for the Statement of Essential Facts (SEF). The final determination to Australia's Minister for Industry, Innovation and Science is now expected by August 17, 2026.

The review was initiated on June 30, 2025, following an application by Australian company Rondo Building Services Pty Ltd. The investigation period spanned from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025, and the period for assessing industry injury is from April 1, 2021.

The affected products are under HS codes 7216.61.00.57, 7216.69.00.58, 7308.90.00.52, 7308.90.00.53, 7308.90.00.55, and 7308.90.00.56.
