On August 10, 2022, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission initiated a mid-term review investigation of anti-dumping (AD) and countervailing duties (CVD) on grinding balls from China based on an application lodged by Australian domestic company Commonwealth Steel Company, to examine whether the variable factors related to the measures have changed.

The products involved are ferrous grinding balls, whether or not containing alloys, cast or forged, with a diameter from 22 mm to 170 mm (inclusive), under HS codes 7325.91.00.26, 7326.11.00.29, and 7326.90.90.60.

The period of the investigation was from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022. The Australian Anti-Dumping Commission intended to submit its final recommendation to the Minister for Industry, Energy and Emissions Reduction on or before January 12, 2023.
