Brazil's Vale said that two of its mines, whose operating licenses were temporarily stopped, didn't show any signs of an environmental or social breach, and it will try to discuss the issue with the authorities.

Brazil's environmental secretary of Para indicated that the suspension of Vale's Onca Puma nickel mine and Sossego copper mine was because Vale's annual environment report had irregularities and did not comply with mining mitigation measures. These might cause conflict with the local community.
