Brazil's pig iron production falls in Feb

According to statistics from Brazil Steel Institute (Instituto Aço Brasil, IABr), Brazil’s pig iron production totaled around 2.1 million tons in February, falling by 8.4% compared to the previous month and slightly dropping by nearly 1% from the year-ago level.

In the first two months of this year, Brazil produced a total of approximately 4.4 million tons of pig iron, a year-on-year decrease of 1.1%.

In February, Brazil’s pig iron exports dropped by 17% year on year to 207,800 tons, and the exports in the January-February period slid by 11% year on year to 444,100 tons.
