Brazil’s steel bar exports fall in Jul

According to statistics from the Brazil Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC), Brazil’s steel bar exports totaled around 96,000 tons in July this year, dropping by 29% compared to the previous month while rising by nearly 31% from the same month a year ago. The figure hit the second-highest this year so far.

During the period, the value of these exports was up by 72.4% year on year to US$109 million.

In the first seven months of this year, Brazil’s steel bar exports amounted to approximately 805,000 tons, a year-on-year hike of 56%, with a value surging by 101% year on year to US$792 million.
