Alucam, an aluminum company in Cameroon, said the company’s export revenue benefited from the global price surge.

According to the Bank of Central African States (BEAC), the global aluminum price increased by 15.7% in this year's first and second quarters, rising from the 2.7% increase recorded in the fourth quarter of 2023 and the first quarter of 2024.

Alucam has an annual production capacity of 70,000 tons of aluminum, mainly for export.

In 2023, Alucam exported around 15,900 tons of raw aluminum to France, making aluminum the fifth-largest export product from Cameroon to European countries. These exports generated revenue of CFA 20.8 billion for Cameroon. Alucam’s aluminum exports to France accounted for more than 36% of Cameroon's total aluminum exports in 2023.

Cameroon’s aluminum exports amounted to approximately 44,000 tons throughout 2023, which created CFA 54.2 billion in revenue.
