Canyon Resources, an Australia-based minerals miner, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Port Authority of Douala for the development of infrastructure at the Port of Douala-Bonaberi in Cameroon.

Under the agreement, the two parties will cooperate to develop and upgrade the current port facilities on the right bank of the Wouri River. The year-long feasibility studies for this development will focus on the design, financing, construction, operation, and maintenance of the mineral terminal for the export and storage of Canyon Resources’ bauxite. The feasibility studies might be extended for six months.
