According to statistics, the production of crude stainless steel in China’s 41 mills amounted to around 3.04 million tons in June, falling by 2.5% compared to the previous month and rising by 10% from the same month a year ago. The decrease was mainly due to steel mills’ maintenance and higher production costs.

The decreased production was primarily in 200 series. The output in 300 series kept flat and 400 series dropped slightly.

In July, the scheduled production of crude stainless steel will be 3.022 million tons, a month-on-month decrease of 0.4% and a year-on-year hike of 20%. Among them, the scheduled output of 200, 300, and 400 series will be approximately 885,000 tons, 1.68 million tons, and 460,000 tons, respectively.
