China Steered 2.3% Surge in Asian Crude Steel Output

The recent production data released by the World Steel Association (wordsteel) suggests marginal increase in crude steel output by Asian countries during the month of July this year. The production growth by the region was led by China, whose output was up by 9.1% year-on-year.

The Asian region produced 116.483 million net tons (NT) of steel in July 2020, slightly higher by 2.3% when compared with the production during the same month a year before. The regional output had totalled only 113.837 million NT during July 2019.
