China's bauxite imports grow in 2020

According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China, China's bauxite imports amounted to around 7.5 million tons in December 2020, sliding by 6.93% compared to the previous month and also dropping by 15.32% from the same month a year earlier.

The import value during the period reached US$332.4 million, a month-on-month decrease of 8.96% and a year-on-year reduction of 21.55%.   

In 2020, China totally imported roughly 111.5 million tons, growing by 10.85% compared to 2019. Among them, the imports were mostly from Guinea, with around 4.3 million tons, a month-on-month increase of 10.2% and a year-on-year hike of 30.15%.
