China’s crude stainless steel production grows in Jan-Sep

According to statistics, China’s crude stainless steel production amounted to 26.6 million tons in the first nine months of this year, increasing by 12% compared to the same period a year ago. The apparent consumption was 22.25 million tons, a year-on-year hike of 12.3%.

Meanwhile, China’s stainless steel net export volume was around 1.81 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 77.5%. The exported items gradually shift to high-tech products from common varieties.

China’s economic performance has generally rebounded since this year, both supply and demand have continued to recover, and infrastructure construction investment has increased year on year, boosting stainless steel production and sales.
