China's crude steel output increases by 8.4% in Aug

According to China’s National Bureau of Statistics, China’s crude steel output was around 94.9 million tons in August, increasing by 8.4% year on year, and finished steel production reached around 119.1 million tons, up by 11.3% year on year.

During the same period, China’s pig iron output amounted to roughly 78.6 million tons, increasing by 5% from the same month a year ago and also hiking by 0.47% compared to the previous month.

From January to August, China produced roughly 589 million tons of pig iron, crude steel output was around 688.9 million tons, and finished steel output was 844.7 million tons, up by 3.4%, 3.7%, and 4.8% year on year separately.
