China’s primary aluminum production grows in Aug

According to statistics, China’s primary aluminum production totaled around 3.48 million tons in August this year, sliding by 0.67% compared to the previous month and rising by 6.16% from the same month a year ago.

During the period, aluminum mills’ operating rate was down by 2.1% month on month and up by 2.4% year on year to 91.62%. The capacity utilization decreased by 0.84% month on month and hiked by 3% year on year to 92.39%.

The daily production of primary aluminum averaged 112,400 tons in August, falling by 800 tons from last month while rising by 6,500 tons from the year-ago period.
