China’s rebar production grows in Sep

According to statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) of China, China produced around 15.3 million tons of rebar in September, rising by 22% compared to the previous month and dropping by 17% from the same month a year ago.

During the period, China’s wire rod and welded pipe production totaled around 11.7 million tons and 5.4 million tons, dropping by 2.5% and 8% year on year, respectively.

In the first three quarters of this year, China’s rebar output amounted to approximately 145 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 16%. The output of wire rods and welded pipes was roughly 100.3 million tons and 44 million tons, down by 4.2% and by 9% year on year, respectively.
