China’s stainless steel imports rise sharply in Jan-Feb

According to statistics from China Customs, China’s stainless steel imports totaled around 216,000 tons in January, dropping by 0.4% compared to the previous month while surging by 201.4% from the same month a year ago. The imports in February reached around 158,000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of nearly 27% and a year-on-year increase of 105%.

In the first two months this year, China totally imported around 375,000 tons of stainless steel, soaring by 151.4% from the same period a year earlier.

Among them, the imports from Indonesia occupied the largest proportion, totaling roughly 301,000 tons, a year-on-year surge of 372.15%.
