China’s stainless steel net exports grow in Apr

According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC), China’s stainless steel imports totaled 122,000 tons in April, falling by 1.1% compared to the previous month and by 48.9% from the year-ago level.

Among them, imports from Indonesia were 93,000 tons, a month-on-month increase of 2.5% and a year-on-year drop of 52.6%.

On the side of exports, China exported 376,000 tons of stainless steel in April, up by 7.7% month on month and down by 1.4% year on year.

Overall, China’s net exports of stainless steel reached 254,000 tons in April, 12.4% higher than the preceding month and 78.1% more than a year earlier.
