China’s steel scrap imports surge in Feb

According to statistics from China Customs, China imported around 28,000 tons of scrap in the first two months of this year, of which the imports in February accounted for 14,700 tons, a year-on-year surge of 158%.

In the January-March period last year, China’s scrap imports amounted to roughly 55,400 tons, soaring by more than 1,500% compared to the corresponding period in 2020.
