Danieli updates NLMK Clabecq’s plate mill in Belgium

Danieli, an Italy-based equipment supplier, has upgraded NLMK Clabecq’s plate mill in Ittre, Belgium. The purpose of this upgrade was to consolidate the company’s position in the thin-gauge steel market and improve plate surface, flatness, and dimensional tolerance.
Danieli installed hydraulic actuators for gap control (HAGC) for stands 3 and 4, a new hydraulic bending system, and new loopers for stands 1 to 4 connected to a new hydraulic power unit.
The equipment company also updated the level 2 process control system and installed a new flatness gauge at the exit of the finishing mill.
