Pyongyang, January 20 (KCNA) -- In the DPRK, big efforts are concentrated on increasing the iron and steel production at major metal factories.

The 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea set forth a task to technologically perfect the Juche-based system of iron making, expand its capacity and radically increase the iron and steel production in the metal industrial sector.

The Chollima Steel Complex and the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex have turned out lots of molten iron every day by raising the charging proportion of raw materials at electric furnaces including the UHP electric arc furnace and improving the technical control.

The Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex has kept the production of molten iron going at a high rate by thoroughly observing the technical rules and standard regulations in operating equipment.
