EGA to build its first aluminum recycling plant in UAE

Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), a premium aluminum producer based in the UAE, announced that it will build its first aluminum recycling plant in the UAE, with an ability to process 150,000 tons of aluminum scrap every year. The recycled low-carbon aluminum billet is called EternAL.
The raw materials will be post-consumer aluminum scraps such as used window frames and unconsumed scrap from extrusion production, supplied by the UAE and neighboring areas.
A feasibility study for the project is underway. The earliest production could be in 2024. This facility will increase EGA's capacity from about 1.15 million tons per year to about 1.3 million tons.
