Glencore has signed an agreement with France's Aluminium Dunkerque to supply feedstock alumina to the aluminum smelter from 2023. It added Aluminium Dunkerque's sources of alumina after its previous purchasing only from Trafigura.

Besides, Aluminium Dunkerque will also sell a portion of its aluminum to Glencore. These agreements came out at the time when Russia invaded Ukraine and many exports of commodities, including alumina, were disrupted due to the war.

Aluminium Dunkerque is one of the largest primary aluminum smelters in Europe, located in northern France, with an annual output of aluminum of 286,000 tons.
