Global primary aluminum output grows in Oct

According to the report from the International Aluminum Institute (IAI), global primary aluminum output totaled 5.689 million tons in October, growing by 1.28% compared to the same month a year ago.

Among them, the output from China was 3.27 million tons, a slight year-on-year increase; that from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries was 514,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.05%; that from North America was 318,000 tons, a year-on-year drop of 4.79%; that from South America was 100,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 14.94%; that from Asia (excluding China) was 387,000 tons, a year-on-year hike of 10.57%.

In the first ten months of this year, the total global primary aluminum output amounted to around 56.3 million tons, rising by 4.02% compared to the same period a year ago.
