Global stainless steel consumption expected to grow by 11% in 2021

China currently has around 3 million tons of stainless steel scrap available per year, which is growing at a rate of at least 10%.

In 2021, the combined share of China and Indonesia’s stainless steel output will continue to rise to more than 70% of the global output.

According to experts, despite uncertainties brought by the COVID-19 epidemic worldwide, the global stainless steel consumption will hike by 11% in 2021, and China will have an increase of 3%.

It was expected that global stainless steel consumption will only slide by 4% this year.
