Vivek Johri, Chairman of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs of India, said India’s Ministry of Finance is considering a proposal to continue to impose a five-year countervailing duty (CVD) at a rate of 18.95% on certain flat-rolled steel products from China.

The proposal was from the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) and is still under review. The final determination hasn’t been made.

DGTR initiated a sunset review investigation on China’s imports of hot-rolled and cold-rolled stainless steel flat products, based on the application filed by Jindal Stainless and Jindal Stainless (Hisar).
