India initiates first AD sunset review investigation on China's seamless tubes & hollow profiles

The Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced on February 19, 2021 that it has launched a sunset review investigation on imports of seamless tubes and hollow profiles of iron, alloy or non-alloy steel (other than cast iron and stainless steel) originating in or exported from China. The products involved are classified under HS code 7304.

The investigation was initiated based on the application filed by ISMT Limited and Jindal Saw Limited.

The period of investigation was from April 1, 2019 to September 30, 2020 (18 months), and the injury analysis period covered the period of investigation and 2016-17, 2017-18, and 2018-19.

On February 17, 2017, India began to impose a five-year AD duty on the subject goods from China. The duty rate is US$961.33-1,610.67/ton.
