According to Hindalco Managing Director Satish Pai, unlike other global aluminum enterprises, Indian aluminum manufacturers are not going to shut down or cut any aluminum capacity for the short term at least.

Satish Pai said that the company saw sufficient demand in India, which was expected to rise by 8-9% this fiscal year. They were focusing more on LME prices over the past year in order to do any adjustments.

Satish Pai added that he believed the LME aluminum price will not fall to a lower level compared to the current one, saying that aluminum prices should have hit bottom, while the ceiling remains to be seen.
