According to RUSAL, a global leading aluminum supplier in Russia, the company’s primary aluminum production reached 1.89 million tons in the first half of this year, rising by 1.2% compared to the same period a year ago. The increase was due to the new production capacity created by the low-carbon aluminum smelter in Taishet, Siberia, which was put into production last December.

During the same period, RUSAL’s aluminum sales totaled 1.76 million tons, down by 11.9% year on year; the alumina output was 3.3 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 19.6%; the bauxite output was 6.74 million tons, sliding by 11.75% year on year.

In 2021, RUSAL’s aluminum production amounted to 3.76 million tons, slightly rising by 0.2% compared to the corresponding period a year ago.
