The Ministry of Mines of India issued the National Non-ferrous Metal Scrap Recycling Framework, 2020 recently, aiming to frame a recycling ecosystem for scrap recycling of non-ferrous metals, such as aluminum and copper.

The current system is not well-organized, and the waste industry has a high dependence on imports.

Therefore, the newly-formed recycling ecosystem will drive secondary production with high quality by producing high-quality scrap and thereby reduce dependence on imported scrap.
