The forecast of global crude stainless steel production was raised by MEPS to 56.8 million tons this year. Among them, the output from Indonesia increased greatly this year. Indonesia was expected to produce more than 4.5 million tons of stainless steel in 2021, which will make this country surpass India, becoming the second-largest stainless steel producer in the world.

MEPS foresaw that the global stainless steel output will have an increase of 2.5% to 58.2 million tons in 2022. Indonesia’s output will continue the expansion, exceeding the pace of India. However, the increase in other regions was expected to be gentle.
