According to a director of Indonesian state miner MIND ID, the joint venture of a US$831.5 million alumina smelter between Indonesian state-owned miners Aneka Tambang (Antam) and Inalum would be terminated if the contractor fails to reach an agreement by October.

The project was signed in 2020 and was originally scheduled to be completed in 2022. The deadline was pushed back to 2024, and the contractors had asked to further push the deadline to 2025, but it was rejected by MIND ID.
