Italian crude steel output decreases in Sep

According to the latest provisional data from Italian steelmakers' association Federacciai, Italy’s crude steel production totaled around 1.79 million tons in September, down by 18.7% year on year.

During the period from January to September, Italian crude steel production fell by 17.2% year on year to 14.55 million tons.

In September, the output of long products was roughly 1.13 million tons, sliding by 1.5% year on year, and the production of flat products amounted to 694,000 tons, down by 33.4% year on year.

In the first nine months of this year, the output of long products decreased by 14.5% from the same period last year to roughly 7.9 million tons, while the output of flat products reached around 6.9 million tons, decreasing by 22.1% year on year.
