Italian crude steel production rises in Jan

According to statistics from the Italian steelmakers' association Federacciai, Italian crude steel output totaled around 1.8 million tons in January, which was slightly up by 0.7% compared to the same month a year ago.

Besides, the country's flat product production hiked by 2.8% year on year, reaching roughly 930,000 tons; the output of long products climbed by 5.3% year on year to around 930,000 tons.

In 2020, Italian crude steel production amount to around 20.4 million tons, dropping by nearly 12% year on year. The output of flat products fell by 15.9% to 9.5 million tons, and that of long products slid by 9.5% year on year to 11 million tons.
