Japan's scrap exports drop in Aug

According to statistics, Japan’s scrap exports totaled around 670,000 tons in August, dropping by 2.7% compared to the same month a year ago.

In the first eight months of this year, Japan totally exported roughly 6.3 million tons of scrap, increasing by 28.1% from the same period a year earlier.

Among them, the exports to Vietnam had a year-on-year increase of 63.6% to around 2.2 million tons; those to South Korea had a year-on-year decrease of 27.2% to around 1.98 million tons; those to Taiwan had a year-on-year hike of nearly 122% to around 908,000 tons; those to Bangladesh had a year-on-year surge of 230.3% to roughly 476,000 tons.
