Large diameter pipes manufactured by Russia’s steel giant Severstal were used in the stadium project in the new capital of Egypt. Large diameter pipes were made for Orascom Construction PLC, which is a global leader in construction and engineering, especially in fields such as industrial projects, infrastructure, high-tech projects, etc.

The large diameter pipes would be used as vertical braces and support for the Olympic stadium.

The pipes were produced at the Izhora Pipe Mill, with a diameter from 508 to 1422mm. The wall thickness was between 10 and 28mm and the length was up to 18.3 meters. These large pipes were shipped to Egypt’s Alexandria port and then by road to the country’s new capital.
