North American primary aluminum production grows in Jul

According to statistics from the US’ Aluminum Association, the US’ primary aluminum production was around 83,200 tons in July, down by 7.7% from the previous month and 11.8% from the same month a year ago. The expected annual production rate was roughly 983,000 tons.

The Aluminum Association of Canada (AAC)’s statistics showed that the country totally produced around 264,000 tons of primary aluminum in July, up by 4.4% month on month and 9.1% year on year. The expected annual production rate was 2.84 million tons.

Combined US' output with Canada's, North American primary aluminum production amounted to roughly 347,000 tons in July, a month-on-month increase of 1.2% and a year-on-year hike of 3.2%, with an annual production of 4.098 million tons.
