According to the performance report released by Rio Tinto, the firm’s bauxite output totaled around 56.6 million tons in 2020, growing by 2% compared to 2019, mainly due to the expansion of Compagnie des Bauxites de Guinée SA (CBG)’s mine in Guinea and the stable operation at the Pacific mines.

In 2020, Rio Tinto's aluminum production reached 3.18 million tons, keeping at the same level as 2019, due to the output reduction at the Tiwai Point aluminum smelter in New Zealand and the pot relining at the Kitimat smelter, while the decrease was offset by an increase in production capacity at the Becancour smelter in Quebec.
