According to reports, Rusal, the world’s second-largest aluminum producer, saw its American division shipped more than 25,000 tons of aluminum in its best-ever month for North American shipments. It believed to see similar numbers for the coming months for the rest of the year and reach the annual record for the region.

Rusal believed the recovery in the US economy will support more demand for goods that requires aluminum, including canned beer, window frames, and recreational vehicles.

Alcoa Corp, one of the world’s biggest producers, said it predicted a strong demand recovery for the world. The benchmark price on LME rose by 15% this year, which was the best start since 2017.

Some uncertainties are still in the US aluminum market. General Motors Co. said it would extend the shutdowns at some North American plants due to the lack of semiconductors.
