Russia successfully develops 400°C resistant aluminum

It was reported that the researchers of Russia’s National University of Science and Technology (NUST MISIS) and scientists have jointly developed a new low-cost high-strength, heat-resistant, and electrical conductive aluminum alloy, which can resist temperatures up to 400°C.

Experts said that this material would greatly lower the weight and carbon footprint of new rail vehicles, aircraft, and other technology.

The new aluminum-alloy wire could replace expensive and heavy copper-based conductors, and it would be widely used in aircraft, high-speed rail cars, and other equipment, saving fuel and reducing hazardous emissions into the atmosphere.
