According to statistics from the Russian Special Steel and Alloys Consumers and Suppliers Association (USSA), Russia's stainless steel imports totaled around 35,700 tons in December 2020, increasing by 7.8% compared to the previous month while sliding by 7.3% from the same month in 2019.
Among them, the imports of cold-rolled stainless steel sheet increased by 9.1% month on month, while hot-rolled plates fell by 34.1% from the previous month.
The data from USSA showed that the prices of stainless steel products in Russia surged by end of last year, due to increased demand, reduced stocks, rising foreign market prices, and higher prices of steel imports.
