According to statistics from the Russian Special Steel and Alloys Consumers and Suppliers Association (USSA), Russia’s stainless steel imports amounted to 46,000 tons in February, growing by 21.4% compared to the previous month and also hiking by 28.3% from the same month a year ago.
The USSA said that Russia’s import and export volume will be impacted in March due to the Ukraine-Russia war and sanctions imposed by western countries.
Besides, Russia’s importers are also facing sharp appreciation of the ruble, new regulations from unfriendly countries, as well as major container companies’ rejection to supply products to Russian ports.
