Russia’s stainless steel imports hike in Oct

According to the Russian Special Steel and Alloys Consumers and Suppliers Association (USSA), Russia’s stainless steel imports totaled around 45,200 tons in October this year, hiking by 13.1% compared to the previous month.

Among them, the imports of stainless steel cold-rolled flat products were up by 12.4%, those of stainless steel hot-rolled flat products hiked by 37%, long products imports rose by 3.8%, and imports of stainless steel seamless pipe slid by 45%, all month on month.

China was still the largest import source of Russia’s stainless steel products in October, accounting for 51.1% of the total imports, followed by India’s 22.4%, Indonesia’s 7.9%, Ukraine’s 3.4%, and South Korea’s 2.2%.

In the first ten months of this year, Russia imported roughly 368,200 tons of stainless steel products, a year-on-year increase of 13.7%.
