According to Swedish steelmaker SSAB, the talks on the possible acquisition of Tata Steel IJmuiden have been canceled as it was difficult to integrate the blast furnace with the group's sustainable development project.

After the analysis and discussions, SSAB thought that the possibility of integrating the IJmuiden steel plant into SSAB's strategic framework was quite small. IJmuiden's steel mills with an annual production capacity of 7.5 million tons and its related downstream assets were hard to fulfill SSAB's financial expectations.
