Taiwan’s 300 series stainless steel hot-rolled coil imports amounted to around 318,300 tons in the first half of this year, rising by 20.7% compared to the same period a year ago.

Among them, the source from Indonesia accounted for 98.5%, totaling around 313,400 tons. Compared to the proportion of 96.7% last year, Taiwan has further increased its dependence upon Indonesia Tsingshan’s stainless steel.

China ranked second with 4,250 tons, a share of 1.34%. Supply from South Korea was 530 tons. The average import price of 300 series stainless steel hot-rolled coils decreased in the January-June period due to a drop in international nickel prices.
