Tang Eng Iron Works Co., Ltd., one of the main stainless steel manufacturers in Taiwan, raised its new prices of stainless steel products for March today (February 25).

According to the price adjustment, the price of 304 cold-rolled and hot-rolled stainless was hiked by NT$6,000/ton, and the surcharge of 316L was raised by NT$1,000/ton. The base price of 304 cold-rolled and hot-rolled for exporting was up by US$150-250/ton depending on different regions.

Tang Eng said its moderate adjustment of prices was to reflect rising prices of international raw materials and higher production costs under consideration of downstream industry’s competitiveness. The company will respond to the situation next month subject to the changes in the war in Russia and Ukraine and the changes in international politics and economy.

Market participants said that the stainless steel market price will keep steady after the upstream mills finalized their prices, but it still needs to observe the trend of nickel price and the going of the market.
