Due to surged prices of international raw materials, including copper, aluminum, nickel, iron ore, and so on, Walsin Lihwa, one of the steel wire rod manufacturers in Taiwan, has benefited from rising stainless steel prices.

The firm’s sales volume and prices grew stably, mainly driven by domestic projects and the renewable-energy industry. Therefore, a good operation performance was expected for Walsin Lihwa in the first quarter of this year.

Besides, Walsin Lihwa’s investment in a nickel pig iron (NPI) plant in Indonesia will have an annual output of around 30,000 to 36,000 tons, accounting for 50% of Walsin Lihwa’s raw materials for a year. The project was predicted to start production in the third quarter of this year.
