Yieh United Steel Corp. (Yusco) and Tang Eng Iron Works Co., Ltd., two major stainless steel manufacturers in Taiwan, have faced serious losses due to dropped nickel prices since earlier this year, the COVID-19 epidemic, which severely impacted their export markets, as well as low-priced imported goods to disturb market prices.

Driven by the recent climbing nickel prices and higher costs of raw materials, Yusco and Tang Eng were expected to raise their stainless steel prices before the end of this month, which could help improve their operations and the performance in the second half of this year.
