US’ crude steel production in week ending Oct 14 slightly decreases

According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending October 14, the production of US’ crude steel totaled 1.695 million short tons, slightly decreasing by 0.2% from the same period a week ago and rising by 3.1% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 73.8, down by 0.9% week on week and up by 0.1% year on year.

As of the week ending October 14, the adjusted year-to-date production of US’ crude steel has amounted to around 70.16 million short tons, a year-on-year drop of 1.1%. The capacity utilization rate was 75.9%, a year-on-year reduction of 2.9%.
