US’ HRC exports fall in Dec

According to statistics from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US exported around 38,400 tons of hot-rolled coils (HRC) in December last year, decreasing by 22% compared to the previous month and by 34% from the same month a year ago.

Among them, the exports to Mexico accounted for the largest proportion, totaling roughly 22,000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 29.3% and a year-on-year drop of 43.8%. Canada ranked second with around 16,300 tons, and the exports to other countries were less than 1,000 tons.

During the period, the export value was nearly US$37 million, down by 23.3% month on month and by 26.8% year on year.
