US’ merchant bar exports hike in Apr

According to statistics from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US exported around 5,600 tons of merchant bar in April, hiking by 9.3% compared to the previous month and also rising by 179% from the same month a year ago.

Among them, the exports to Canada accounted for the largest proportion, totaling approximately 2,600 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 20.9% and a year-on-year hike of 102.5%. Mexico ranked second with roughly 2,500 tons, the exports to other destinations were less than 1,000 tons during the period.

Meanwhile, the export value totaled around US$6 million, up by 7.7% month on month and 195% year on year.
