In August 2023, world alumina production was recorded at 12.369 million tonnes, which fell in the succeeding month by 3.06 per cent to 11.99 million tonnes, according to the IAI data.
On a year-on-year basis, world alumina production in October 2023 remained almost restrained compared to 12.21 million tonnes.
From January to October 2023, the world‘s cumulative production of alumina amounted to 118.22 million tonnes, down by 0.50 per cent from 118.81 million tonnes during the corresponding period of the previous year.
The world’s daily average alumina output in October 2023 was 395,100 tonnes, which surprisingly was lower than the previous month despite the hike in monthly production. Compared to 399,700 tonnes in September 2023, the worldwide daily average alumina production in October was 1.15 per cent less.
China, the world’s largest alumina producer, churned out 7.18 million tonnes during October 2023, up by 3.31 per cent from 6.95 million tonnes a month ago. On a year-on-year basis, the output stood 2.57 per cent higher than 7 million tonnes.
